Bob Humphreys has written articles that will assist coaches when communicating with players and the use of nonverbal communication. One of the documents that will be discussed in the webinar is titles, "What makes them tick", which is a set of questions that we used with coaches in England to help better understand the individual. Cardiff City academy used this to great effect as did Ipswich Town FC.

 

The importance of nonverbal communication, Bob makes reference to is a British body language expert, Mark Bowden, who is based now in Toronto. Mark talks about what he calls the Truthplane. Words and instructions can be heard but they have to be believed by the audience and by using the Truthplane it ensures that the listeners believe the words used. This whole body language area is a fascinating subject but missed in many sports education courses. This promises to be a fascinating topic. Bob is originally from the UK, lived in France and now resided in Quebec and consults businesses and sport coaches from around the world.
